Louis Abraham Peterson was born in Wilmington, Delaware on June 2, 1932. Louis was one of nine siblings- Gwendolyn, Leroy, Lester, Leonard, Lynwood, Luther, Lawrence and Alice. He is survived by Gwendolyn and Leroy. The son of Dorsey Peterson and Orpha (Cornish) Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Denise Peterson, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a child he was a member of the Chippey Chapel Junior Choir in Hockessin DE. He graduated from Howard High School at the age of 17 and enlisted in the U. S. Army. He served in Germany during the Korean War Era from 1950 to 1956. He oversaw the Office of Logistics and Supply and eventually achieved the rank of Sergeant E5. Upon returning to Delaware he was employed by the DuPont Company in Wilmington. He had 6 children with his first wife in Delaware-Louis Peterson Jr., Kevin Peterson, Troy Peterson, Lavonne Peterson, Latonya Peterson, Terrance Peterson. Lou then relocated to Boston, MA in the late 1960's, worked for Microwave Development Laboratory in Needham, MA as a Military Logistics Contractor. In 1973 he suffered a spinal cord injury, and as a result he could not continue to work in that capacity. During this period, he met Denise and was married in 1978. They had two daughters, Courtney (Peterson) Reeves and Amanda Peterson. After retirement bored with staying home, he was employed by USA Couriers and due to his great boss Mo, he declared "this is the best job I've ever had!" Lou was an adamant fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, and cooking favorite family recipes such as green beans with bacon, orange chicken, and sweet potato pudding. Affectionately known by his wife as "My Warrior" and "Me Mate," as well as Lou, Daddy and Grandpa, he will be sorely missed by all that knew him and loved him.
