Obituary

Lisa Golden October 21, 1979 – July 27, 2026

Lisa Golden passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2026, at the age of 46. She will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.

Lisa was the loving daughter of Thomas Golden and his significant other, Helen Lepore, and of Mary Chalmers and her husband, Thomas Dawson. She was the cherished sister of Tricia Downing and her husband, Mike Downing, and the devoted Godmother and beloved "Auntie CC" to Brody Downing. She was the loving girlfriend of David Poynton. Lisa was also a treasured niece and cousin to many, and leaves behind countless friends from high school and beyond who considered her family in every sense of the word.

Lisa was a proud graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Plant and Soil Science. She put that knowledge to work in her career on the golf course, a place she truly loved being — though, fittingly, she was never much of a golfer herself.

Above all, Lisa was known for her warmth, her loyalty, and her gift for friendship. She had an infectious laugh and never met a party she didn't love. She was the kind of friend who kept every secret and never spoke a word of gossip, earning the trust and love of everyone who knew her. An avid Boston sports fan, Lisa also found joy in skiing and running, loved trips to Disney World, and could always be counted on for a good TV binge. Her dogs were her world — her beloved Holly was her best friend and constant companion, and Lisa was preceded in death by Holly and Washburn, both cherished members of her family.

Lisa's warmth, humor, loyalty, and quiet trustworthiness leave a lasting impression on everyone whose life she touched. She will be profoundly missed, and forever remembered with love.

In honor of her love for Disney, we say goodbye with a line that suited her well — Lisa was, as Mary Poppins would say, "practically perfect in every way."
