Rutherford, Leroy "Popcorn" was born on July 4, 1919, in Newberry County, South Carolina. He was the youngest of nine children born to James Rutherford and Mary Coleman Rutherford. He served in the military before moving to Boston, MA over fifty years ago. Mr. Rutherford was employed with and retired from the railroad company. He was predeceased by a wife, Connie, and a daughter, Marion. Leroy is survived by a granddaughter, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
