Boston has lost a treasured son. Kevin J. Morrison was a man whose life reflected the very best of Boston: hard-working, deeply loyal, and fiercely devoted to his family.

Born to Irish immigrants from Derry, Kevin grew up in the tight-knit community of Mission Hill. He learned the value of grit, determination and education early on and attended Mission High. As the first person in his family to attend a four-year college, Kevin paved his own path. He worked multiple jobs at the same time to pay his own way through both college and law school at Boston College.

Kevin turned his education into a life of award-winning service for his hometown. He worked with the Community Development Corporation (CDC) and later served as Chief General Counsel to the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA). Through these roles, he helped shape the city he loved so much in quiet but lasting ways. Beyond his official jobs, Kevin served Boston through his everyday interactions. Kevin also served the city of Cleveland for two years following law school , providing free legal services to those who couldn’t afford it. He treated everyone with respect. Whether you were a lifelong friend or a person he had just met, you left his presence feeling valued. He lived with great integrity, intelligence, good humor, and humility.

Kevin’s heart belonged to his family. He met his loving wife of 51 years, Lulu (Marie) Morrison, on Cape Cod. Cape Cod would become a cornerstone for the Morrison family, filled with decades of happy memories. Together, Kevin and Lulu settled in West Roxbury to raise their family.

Kevin’s proudest title was father. His three daughters — Molly Morrison of Hyde Park, Bevan Morrison of Washington D.C., and Meghan Cieslak of Arlington, Virginia—were the lights of his life. He was truly the "GOAT" (Greatest of All Time) of Girl Dads. He poured unconditional, selfless, and generous love into his daughters.

Kevin passed away peacefully after a long, brave battle with Parkinson’s Disease. To know Kevin was to love him, and his lessons of kindness and hard work will live on in the hearts of everyone he touched.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 27, at 10:30 am in St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington St. West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment private.
