June Carmeta Clarke (formerly Jones), aged 81, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of deep family devotion and cherished friendships.

Born on May 19, 1945, in Cox Road, Christ Church, Barbados, June was the beloved daughter of Bertina Jones and Wilbert Smith. As the fifth of seven children, she held a uniquely special place in the family as the only girl. She grew up in Cox Road and later moved to Clapham, Christ Church, where she resided until she emigrated to the United States in 1986 to build a new chapter.

For 41 years, June was the dedicated wife of Michael B. Clarke, standing by his side as a true partner in life.

She is survived by her dear brothers, Kenneth and Kenrick (David) Jones, and was predeceased by her other four brothers.

June's warmth extended across generations. She was the treasured aunt of Carlo, Troy, Janelle, Cadeem, Christopher, Camari, and Naeem Jones; Lamar and Kevin Blaggrove; Anderson Blackman; and many others.

She also leaves to mourn her cousin, Muriel Forde, and her sisters-in-law, Genetha, Esther, and Rosie Jones.

A natural nurturer, June was the proud godmother of Lydia Cumberbatch, Zoey, and Zahra Harding. Her devoted friend, Ondeane Harding, will keep her memory alive, along with a large, loving circle of extended relatives and lifelong friends.
