Joseph A
Antonuccio
November 12, 1930 – October 30, 2022
Joseph Anthony Antonuccio of West Roxbury, formerly of Mission Hill, passed away on October 30, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was 91 years young. Beloved son of the late Pasquale "Patsy" and Carmella Antonuccio (née Cucinotta), he was predeceased by the love of his life, Helen McKenney.
Joe was a loving brother of Catherine "Kay" O'Malley, Angelina "Angie" Barry, and the late Vinchenzo "Zeno" Antonuccio and Beatrice Fullerton. He is survived by 22 nieces and nephews, as well as many greats, great-greats, and Godchildren. Survived by the loving LaPointe family.
Uncle Joe was generous, quick witted, and candid. He loved being with his family for holidays and having chats to share his wisdom and opinions. He would gather up his nieces and nephews into his car and bring them to the Boston Edison family gatherings. He was a second father to the Antonuccio children when Zeno and Peggy were called too soon to be Angels in Heaven.
Celebrating the Feast of St. Joseph was a family tradition, and Uncle Joe was always at the center of preparing and eating the delicious paduni. He also enjoyed going to Montreal with Helen to visit family, especially around Christmas, and making summer visits to Chatham.
Joe retired from Boston Edison, where he had been a #1A Splicer and Chief Steward. He additionally served on the Board of Directors for the Boston Credit Union and as Building Committee Chair of the Local 369 Kings Hill Braintree Union Building. He was Chairman of the Boston Edison Underground Retirees, cementing their lifelong bond after retirement, and was known as a leading fundraiser for the famed Las Vegas nights.
