Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jose A. Ortega

March 19, 1964 – September 2, 2026

Jose A. Ortega, a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on September 2, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and countless people who loved him.

Jose was born on March 19, 1964, in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, to his loving parents, Yolanda Fernandez and Alejandro Ortega.

Jose was a truly special man whose presence could light up a room. He was known for his kindness, respect, humor, and unforgettable personality. To know Jose was to know someone who was lovable, genuine, and one of a kind. He made friends easily and was loved and respected by many people throughout his life.

Jose had a special love for arts and crafts and enjoyed creating things with his hands. He especially loved building toy cars, carefully putting them together piece by piece. His love for cars went beyond a hobby. He enjoyed fixing and working on cars, a passion he developed from growing up watching his father and uncle work on and fix cars.

Those childhood memories stayed with Jose throughout his life. Watching his father and uncle work on cars became a passion that he carried with him. Whether he was fixing a car, building a model car, or creating something with his hands, Jose found joy in working, creating, and bringing things to life.

Jose was a father and grandfather who loved his family deeply. Each relationship he shared with his children was unique, shaped by the circumstances of their lives and the time they were able to share together. Regardless of the distance or challenges that life sometimes brings, his children and grandchildren will always be a part of his story and his legacy.

He leaves behind his children, Rose Lee Ortega, Rebecca Lee Ortega, Tatiana Ortega, Aisha Ortega, Johnathen Ortega, Jose A. Ortega Jr, Cassandra Ortega, children raised Oscar, Cesar, Emilio as well as his 13 beloved grandchildren.

He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Rose Ortega, Olga Ortega, Juan Ortega, Yolanda Ortega, Mari Eneda Ortega, Waleska Ortega, Raymond Ortega, Alex Ortega, and Betsy Ortega.

Jose leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind the laughter he shared, the friendships he built, the kindness he showed, his love for cars and crafts, and the many moments that made him who he was.

His passing has left a deep emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him. While we grieve his absence, we find comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace and free from suffering.

His memory will live on in every story told about him, every photograph that brings back a smile, every car that reminds someone of him, and every heart that was blessed to know him.

Dad, you were one of a kind. You were loved more than words could ever explain. We will miss your voice, your laughter, your presence, and everything that made you. Your life mattered, your love mattered, and you will never be forgotten.

Until we meet again, Rest peacefully. We love you forever. ❤️🕊️
