John Shaw January 14, 1989 – December 25, 2020 of West Roxbury died peacefully at home with his dog Sherman by his side. Beloved son of Lori Shaw and the late William (Billy) Shaw BPD of West Roxbury. Loving brother to Lauren Shaw of Dallas, Tx and the late Kerriann Shaw. Friend of many especially Alex, Mel, Lilith and Joseph. Graduate of Boston Latin Academy class of 2007.

John may have lived in West Roxbury but he considered Jamaica Plain home. Many would see John performing with his mandolin at the JP Music Fest, in front of Blanchards or Queeraoke at The Midway. The Midway was John's place. You would often see him traveling by bicycle with his sack on his back containing his precious mandolin ready to play if asked. Music was an important part of who John was whether playing or supporting other artists.

John was a huge fan of the Boston Bruins, New England Patriots and Liverpool FC. A longtime dream came true when John was able to watch Liverpool at Fenway Park and then again in Yankee Stadium!

You could also find John doing security for several comic con conventions starting in January. John took very seriously whatever role he played musician, sports fan, LGBTQ+ advocate and most of all friend. He was very loyal to those he considered friends. Close friends were family to him.

John wanted an Irish wake! So to honor that we will be planning a celebration of his multifaceted life when Covid allows us. Hopefully sometime Summer 2021.
