It is with profound sadness that the family of John G. Mirageas announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, June 30th, 2026, at the age of 61 in Roslindale, MA.

Over the years, John worked as a realtor, selling and leasing properties in the Boston area. He was also self-employed, running his own residential lawn care company. John’s true passion in life was being on the water. His love for the ocean began during his service in the U.S. Navy (VAW-124). He later attended the Franklin Institute of Technology, where he studied marine mechanics. John earned his captain’s license and liked nothing more than spending time on his boat, fishing with family and friends.

John was the loving son of Patricia Mirageas and was preceded in death by his father, George Mirageas. He was the father of Stephanie Yost. He was the devoted brother of Dean Mirageas (Sheila), Stephen Mirageas (Susan), and James Mirageas (Hillary). John will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews, Sophia, Olivia, George, Alex, Evan, Zack, and Ben, as well as his many first cousins and close friends.

Visitation will be held at the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury, MA, on Thursday, July 9th, from 11:00 am to 12:30 p.m., immediately followed by a Greek Orthodox Memorial Service at the funeral home. All who knew and loved John are invited to attend. The burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in John’s memory.
