John Aska of Roslindale, MA, formerly of Manville, RI, and born in Portland, ME, died December 2, 2012, age 89, at his home. Beloved husband of Gloria Corrieri Aska. Loving father of Alida G. Aska, MD, MPH, her husband, David W. Chen, MD, and Melanie N. Aska, JD, MPA. Cherished grandfather of John and Gina Chen and Meredith McBride. Also survived by his sister, Jean Chatty, and by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Aska retired as a Chief Warrant Officer (W-4) from the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II and the Korean War. Funeral mass at St. James Church, Manville, RI on Saturday, December 8, at 11:00 AM. Burial with military honors to follow at St. James Cemetery.
