Deveney – James J. Deveney Sr. of Jamaica Plain, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Gladys A. (Olsen) Deveney. Loving father of James J. Deveney Jr. and his wife Katlyn of Jamaica Plain; and Coleen Deveney of Fall River. Cherished grandfather of Isabel, Madison, Connor, Sean, and Julia. Devoted brother of Beatrice Lowney and the late Margaret Hurley, Patrick, John, and Anne Deveney. James also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and his pal Maxwell.

James was a Real Estate Developer for Dunkin Donuts. He was an Avid Book Collector and a collector of sports Memorabilia. United States Army Veteran.

Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury, on Wednesday, October 11, at 9:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Assumption Church 5 Linden Place, Brookline, at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 10, from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Interment St. Joseph cemetery.
