Jacqueline (Greer)
Mather
February 19, 2018
Jacqueline Mather of Harwich Port, Massachusetts, February 19, 2018, beloved mother of Cindy Cain and mother-in-law to artist Zoo Cain of Maine, sister of Roger Greer of Arizona and the late Wallace C. Greer of Oregon, and aunt of many loving nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held in Maine with close family, with a celebration of her life to be held at a later date. Jackie was born in New York City on October 25, 1944 to Cecil W. and Priscilla Greer. She lived in a number of diverse and beautiful places: New York, Arizona, Alaska, and Cape Cod. She was a kind and loving mother who was an example of integrity, creativity, and strength. She worked many years as a secretary, with her favorite workplaces being the Laboratory of Tree Ring Research at the University of Arizona and the Juvenile Parole Office in Tucson, where she enjoyed the daily camaraderie of interesting and intelligent people. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who dearly loved her family, animals, nature, reading, quilting, crocheting, and artistic bead work. Her heart was kind towards everyone, and anyone who met her was buoyed by her sweet spirit. She will be dearly missed."
