Izzy Doveburd

Born April 24, 1934, Died April 21, 2020

Izzy was born in Philadelphia and moved to Massachusetts when he was 8 months old.  He grew up in Wellesley.  At age 19, Izzy started to play the guitar as well as sing and write songs.  Izzy loved folk and country music and enjoyed yodeling. He will be missed by his dear friends Emilio DiBenedetto, Judy Palladino, Ellen and Allan Schmidt, Cheryl Perrault, members of the Folk Song Society of Greater Boston, residents of the Briarwood Rehabilitation Center in Needham and many others.  His favorite drink was rum and coke.  His friend, the late Jake Kensinger, once referred to Izzy as "all hat and no cattle."  He will be dearly missed by all of his friends.
