Herbert O Edmunds, III, age 74, a veteran of Vietnam, resident of Pembroke, died on January 26, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his daughters as his life came to pass at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center. Mr. Edmunds is survived by his two children: Denise Ann Harrington, Plymouth and Lenette Kay Edmunds of Pembroke. He also leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Emma Kay Harrington and Owen Russell Harrington and his son in law Brian Philip Harrington. Over the years Mr. Edmunds was warmly given the nickname Burt by his loving wife Karen. He married his high school sweetheart, Karen Emma Edmunds (Sharp) before enlisting in the U.S. Army, and was shortly thereafter sent to war. The US Army recognized Herbert for his honorable service through the Army Commendations Medal along with several others. His family has organized a memorial service to honor Herbert's life at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne on Wednesday February 9, 2022 at 1:45pm.
