Morgan, Harold R. (Age 81) of Boston Massachusetts, died of complications from congestive Heart failure on July 13, 2006. Mr. Morgan was a direct descendant of Miles Morgan, who came to Boston from Wales in 1636, and was one of the original settlers of Springfield, Massachusetts where today a statue stands erected to his memory in Courthouse Square. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan E. (Boyd) Morgan of Boston, and his children: David B. Morgan and his wife Sylvia Judd of Boston, Peter J. Morgan, his wife Joan and children Lily and Isaac of Chicago, Illinois, Paula E. Morgan-Johnson, her husband Peter Kober of Boston and their son Scott Johnson of Denver, Colorado, Christopher A. Morgan and his children, Abigail, Emily and Samuel Morgan of Holliston, Massachusetts, Mark S. Morgan and his wife Kelly of Washington, D.C. and Joan M. Hubert- Morgan of Newton, Massachusetts and her daughter Emma J. Hubert. Mr. Morgan is also survived by two great-grandchildren. Born in Boston in 1925, Mr. Morgan was a graduate of Boston Latin School and Harvard University. A decorated World War II Veteran, Mr. Morgan served in the 10th Mountain Division ski troops in Italy. He was wounded in The Po River Valley outside Lucca in 1945, and spent the following 21 months in military Hospitals recovering from his wounds. Mr. Morgan retired in 1993 as Vice President of Allendale Mutual Insurance, Corp., an international commercial reinsurance company. Throughout his life Mr. Morgan was an avid fly-fisherman and frequented many of the best trout runs in New England. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in the Holy Name Church 1689 Centre St. West Roxbury on Monday July 17th at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C. at a later date. In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Harold R.
