GEORGE READER " 85 of Rockland formerly of Jamaica Plain and Dedham passed with his family at his side on November 30th 2020. His passing was peaceful and he will be missed. A former Marine and an accomplished truck driver, George was a member of American Legion Post 76 Jamaica Plain and the American Legion Fogg Post 78 in Hyde Park. George was currently living in Rockland.
George was the son of the late Adolphus & Dorothy (Brown) of Dedham. Brother of the late Phillip Reader of Naples Florida. The husband of late Irene (BOO Wilson) of Jamaica Plain; George is survived by his second wife Patricia (Carr) of Roslindale and Rockland. He was a devoted father of the late Cheryl and to George (Gigi) & his wife Janice of Walpole, Karen (Rohlfing) & her husband George of Quincy, Steven & his wife Laura of Holbrook and Debra (Antunez) & her husband Rafael of Milton. He was the cherished grandfather of Jarrod, Jordan & James Rohlfing, Samantha & Isabella Antunez, Alex & Matthew Reader, Christian Reader and Michael McElligot. He is survived by 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many friends.
A former Marine, George served as a specialist as a shore party man and earned the National Defense Service Medal, and the Navy Occupation Service Medal with /E Clasp
George was a class A CDL truck driver, and worked for many companies over the years, His last position was with the Boston Public Works Parks Department.
