Hediger, George M. of Somerville died peacefully on February 21, 2008, with his family by his side. He was 72. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 5, 1935. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served on the USS Columbus. He was a long time employee of Polaroid in Waltham until he retired. He was a loving husband to Shirley (McGrath) and they recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. He was a beloved father of Charlene Bickford and Shirlann Donahue. Father-In-Law to Mike Williams and Ed Donahue. Grandfather of Denise & Scott Bickford and Kyle Donahue. Brother-In-Law to Edward McGrath. He is survived by two brothers, three sisters and many nieces and nephews. Retired Master Plumber / Pipefitter.
