Obituary

DOREN, George C., Jr., of Plymouth, MA, age 71, passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 18, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born February 11, 1949 in Boston. He graduated from North Quincy High School and enlisted in the Air Force in 1968. He was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base where he worked as a helicopter mechanic and was discharged as a sergeant after a deployment to Thailand.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Maureen (Mulvey), his daughter Christine, her husband Anthony Cardarelli, and their daughter Caroline, his son Michael and his wife Sarah, and his beloved dogs, Cosmo and Abby. He is also survived by his son Mark, his mother Agnes (O'Toole), his sisters Debra Kane and Linda, his brother David, his grandsons Alexander and James, and many aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter Jennifer and his father George Charles, Sr.

George was well-known for having a tough exterior but was a marshmallow on the inside. He loved driving onto Sandy Neck Beach with his family, enjoyed watching ships pass through the Cape Cod Canal while he read his favorite newspapers, and he stuck with the Patriots through thick and thin no matter how much he stood at the TV yelling at them. He will be remembered most by his family for always being there to help with car trouble and home improvement projects and for providing frequent weather and traffic updates. He was always ready with a sarcastic remark despite his selective hearing and had no issue "telling people like it is."

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, services will be private. Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
