Thomas -- Eva M., beloved wife of the late Abdelnour S. Thomas, died Friday, January 13, 2012. Loving mother of Robert and Kay Thomas of Franklin, David and Kristin Thomas of Norwood, Paul and Diane Thomas of Medfield, Simon and Carol Thomas of Norwood, Mary and Stephen Gilligan of Milton and Joan and William Moore of Hopkinton. Also survived by eighteen grandchildren. Eva lived a remarkable life. She emigrated to the United States in 1939. She completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Good Counsel, White Plains NY; a Masters in Physics from Fordham University, PhD in Nuclear Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In recognition of her research work with Professor Victor Hess, he named a major finding "Eve's Constant". She was also CTO of A.S. Thomas Inc. Above all these achievements her greatest was that of wife and mother. Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY on Monday January 16, at 9:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Holy Name Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
