Emily K
Sheehan
June 16, 1983 – December 28, 2022
Emily Sheehan, age 39, of Roslindale, formerly of Westwood, passed away all to suddenly after a brief illness. It is with a heavy sadness in our hearts that we have to say goodbye forever so early in her life.
Emily went to Westwood schools through middle school and then attended Ursuline Academy and graduated as a National Honor Society Member.
Emily was enthusiastic and loved life, living in the moment. A veracious reader since elementary school, hundreds of her favorite books traveled with her wherever she lived. She was a cat lover to the nth degree, and she loved music. Blessed with a voice that could carry a tune, she was a regular "performer" at local live- band Karaoke venues and often called upon to sing when a favorite band was in town.
Emily always loved to bake and in recent years she ventured into what might be considered creative cooking. Boxes of quick dinner meals were often replaced with gourmet style meals for herself and Mike. She frequently baked her well-loved lemon and chocolate-chip cookies, making enough for her friends and co-workers sometimes by request and sometimes just because she wanted to share.
Emily worked as a bartender/waitress. Work that she loved because people opened up to her and joked with her. Due to her genuine good and caring nature she developed many friendships with her customers.
She was the devoted long-time partner of Mike Persechini of Roslindale and loving friend to his daughter Kaylee. Emily is the cherished daughter of David and Jeanne Sheehan of West Roxbury. Loving sister of Kathleen Viens and her husband Pete of Boothbay, ME. and Joseph Sheehan and his wife Caterine of West Roxbury, and an adoring aunt of their daughter Melanie. Emily is predeceased by her grandparents Helen and Joseph Sheehan of West Roxbury and Westwood and Marie and Carl Clausen of Needham and Westwood, and her aunt Sally Flores of Bedford, MA. She is survived by her loving aunts Jane Sheehan of Yarmouth formerly of Westwood and Mary Butler of Holland MI. Emily also leaves behind many close and loving cousins. She will be missed by her family, loved ones and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 3, at 11:00 am in The Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre St. West Roxbury. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Emily's name to the non-profit Raising a Reader, Massachusetts www.raisingareaderma.org For complete obituary and guestbook www.lawlerfuneralhome.com
