1958 - 2022

Edward John Foy Sr. (Ed), 64, of Lake Desolation, passed away on Wednesday December 21, 2022. Ed was born in Amsterdam, NY on March 6, 1958 to the late Edward J. and Catherine Foy. He was the eldest of 4 children.

He was a graduate of Bishop Scully High School. Upon graduation he entered into the US Army, followed by the NYS National Guard.

He spent his lifelong career as a supervisor in manufacturing.

Ed passed away from complications relating to a lifelong heart condition. In spite of his health issues, he always kept a positive attitude about life. Even on his hardest days, you would never hear him complain, and could always count on him to give you a smile.

He was a beloved part of the mountain community. Living on "Happy Hill" in the Foy family's camp-turned-home, Ed could be found visiting the neighbors on his ATV 4-Wheeler, working on the road, or watching football and NASCAR with friends. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Margaret and brother Richard. Edward is survived by 4 children, Melissa (Jeff) Cetnar of Amsterdam, Eddie (Jamy) Foy of Amsterdam, Lucas Foy (Teresa) of Fonda, Meghan of Lake Desolation and 2  grandchildren, Taylor and Payton Foy of Amsterdam. He is also survived by his brother Jamie Foy, (Lori) of Clifton Park.

To whomever is reading this, Ed had one request: "Tell everyone that I said Hi!" Remembrances may be made to the heart failure division at MGH Private services will be held at Saratoga National at a future date. Ther e are no calling hours.
