POWDERMAKER, Dorothy M. (Mackay) Of Newton, died peacefully on February 11, 2018. She is survived by her children, Frank and his wife Yasuko; Marina; Dan and his wife Carla; Patrick and his wife Ruth Goldman; and four grandchildren Halna, Hiroki, Benjamin and Lucy. Dorothy was a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and Simmons College. She was a librarian in the Newton School System, an avid gardener, and enjoyed regular visits to her native Scotland. Contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to Rosie's Place or the Newton Public Library. Visiting Hours: Memorial celebration for friends will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, February 15 at the home of Carla and Dan.
