Charles J.
Murray
May 27, 1943 – January 29, 2024
Charles "Charlie" Joseph Murray, an accomplished attorney and passionate advocate for his family and friends, was a beloved father and grandfather, a devoted husband, and loyal friend. He passed away on January 29, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.
Charlie was born on June 27, 1943 to parents Edward and Henrietta Murray and grew up in Arlington, MA. In 1966, he graduated from Harvard University, where he played football and majored in American History. He then proceeded to Boston College Law School. While in law school, he met and married his cherished wife, Judith Neal. Eventually, Charlie opened and ran his own law firm, where his wisdom, counsel, and compassion earned him the respect and gratitude of countless clients and colleagues. Charlie's personality was infectious – he was quick with a joke or kind word and always emphasized the positive, whether it was in coaching his children's sports teams, on the golf course with his friends, or to anyone in need. Charlie's inspiration lives on with his children, their spouses and his grandchildren: Stephanie and Karl Nicolas; Kristen and Brian Adams, and their children, Owen, Jackie, and Ryan; and Matthew and Christy Murray, and their children, Sophia, Xavier, and Malachy.
A celebration of Charlie's life will be held on February 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Chestnut Hill, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
