Ferro, Charles A. of West Roxbury (formerly of Brookline & Winchester), on January 3, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Marion, their six children & respective spouses: Rosemarie (Paul), Lenora (Thomas), Marion (William), Charles (Veronica), John (Chasidy) & Wendy (Joseph). He also leaves grandchildren Todd, Christopher, Michaela, Tatum & Anthony; and great grandchildren Emma Rose, Jorja, Olivia, & Kaylea, one each from step-grandchildren Susan & Jeffrey; Sheryl & John; Robyn & Keith and Sara Beth. A self-made man, lift truck operator, self-taught locksmith & engineer at-large, he died as he had lived - loving & being loved fiercely and well. In addition to family, he leaves behind a legacy rich in lifelong example of principles and virtues practiced quietly but fervently and consistently. Charles kept the promise he was born to fulfill by applying his able mind and grand heart to every endeavor. With his wife, he built an empire founded on love; together they regarded the successes and joys they earned and won as cause and opportunity to share with others, most especially the needy and less privileged. A true gentleman he was always, but fearless in efforts to protect those less fortunate, the down-trodden and the dispossessed. As he prepared to leave this lifetime, the final song on his lips was to his wife: "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..." He remains the alpha and omega of the many who knew the privilege of his love. Services have been held. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
