Obituary

Carol A. (Mahoney) Moore, 84 of West Roxbury and Harwich, passed away at her home surrounded by love on Thursday, February 16, 2023 after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer.  Born in Boston and raised in West Roxbury, she graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School.  She also graduated from Laboure College after raising her six children.

She loved life and her family and loved to travel and to meet new people, and she made many friends along the way.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at her summer home in Harwich, and she loved spending time at the beach with her family.  She spent the month of March in Naples, FL for many years.  She also loved the holidays with her family, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Carol worked as a Medical Records Coding Manager at Faulkner Hospital for 35 years, and she made many friends along the way.  She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends and weekend getaways with her daughter Eileen and her friends, especially to the Chatham Bars Inn and trips to see her grandson Brendan in AZ and FL.

She was the beloved wife of the late Kevin C. Moore. Devoted daughter of the late Elinor R. (Karcher) Mahoney and Joseph G. Mahoney.  Cherished mother of Barbara Leahy and her husband Thomas, Sr., Michael Moore of Plymouth, Eileen Moore of Raynham, Charles Moore and his wife Suzanne of Mansfield, David Moore and his fiancé Suzanne Peterson of Norfolk, Gerard Moore and his wife Erin of Mansfield.  Loving grandmother of Brendan Moore, Thomas Leahy, Jr. and his wife Emily, Rebekah Campbell and her husband Caelan, Kaitlin Tagliaferri and her husband Noah, Shannon Moore, Brigitte Moore and Marlene Moore.  Also grandmother to Elizabeth Lefrancois and her husband Ross, and her great granddaughters Claire and Elise LeFrancois.

She was the loving sister of Elinor Foley and her husband Paul of Quincy, Janet Mahoney of West Roxbury, and the late BPD Paul Mahoney of West Roxbury, her sister-in-laws, Carol Mahoney of Norwood and Florida, and Carole Moore of Dedham, and her brother-in-law James Boland of Brookline.

She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and extended family and dear friends.

Funeral from The Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 9:00 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in The Holy Name Church at 10:00 a.m.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Visiting hours in the funeral home are on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment at Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury.
