Obituary

Bernadette Geraldine Wood, 76, of Dedham, MA, born to the late John Francis and Mary Bernadette (Hailer) Brown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children on February 11, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend, and doting Mimi, who leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will forever be remembered by those who knew her.

As a devoted wife to the late William Erroll Wood of 48 years, Bernadette poured her heart and soul into creating a warm and loving home for her family. Bernadette was a supportive and dedicated mother to her children, Kimberly and her husband Robert Rayl of Milton, VT, Kerri-Lynne Wood of Saugus, MA, Kristin Wood of Marstons Mills, MA, and Jamie Wood of Dedham, MA. Bernadette's greatest joy and fulfillment in life came from being a Mimi to her beloved grandchildren, Regan, Rowan, Max, Joseph, Rhys, and Eliza. Her love also extended to the family dog, Ayla.

Bernadette is also survived by her sister JoAnn (Paul) Sexton, of Norwood, MA, her brother David (Joanne) Brown of Peabody, MA, her sister Regina Brown, of Franklin, MA and many nieces and nephews whom she cherished.

Bernadette's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, as she always had a special place in her heart for all children. Over the years she delighted in babysitting and caring for many little ones, spreading her love and nurturing ways.

One of Bernadette's greatest joys was baking. Her kitchen was a place of delight, where she would bake delicious treats that brought smiles to the faces of all who tasted them. From her mouthwatering strudel to her scrumptious anise cookies, Bernadette's creations were a true reflection of her love and generosity. She shared her baked goods with family and friends, brightening their days with her delicious confections.

Bernadette's love of traditions during the holidays and on special occasions was contagious. She would eagerly plan and prepare for each celebration, ensuring that every detail was perfect. The joy and warmth Bernadette brought to these occasions will forever be treasured.

Bernadette was loving and devoted. She had a kind and compassionate nature that touched the lives of all who knew her. Bernadette was always supportive, offered a listening ear, a comforting presence, and unwavering love to those in need. Her caring spirit and selflessness will forever be remembered as some of her most admirable qualities.

Bernadette deeply appreciated the care and support she received from the dedicated staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston. Bernadette's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, PCT's  and all the healthcare professionals who provided compassionate care to Bernadette during her time of need. Their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to her well-being will always be remembered and appreciated by her family.

May she rest in peace.
