Obituary

Barbara J. (Madden) Fraser, of West Roxbury, and previously Jamaica Plain, died peacefully on December 7 after a brief illness. Barbara was the middle daughter of the late William F. Madden and Anne (Gorman) Madden of Jamaica Plain. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Bill.  Barbara is survived by her daughters Kim A. Fraser of West Roxbury and Andrea J. (Fraser) Mealey of Boston and St. Louis, MO, and her younger sister, Mary Beth (Madden) O'Connell of West Roxbury and the South End. Barbara is also survived by her two grandchildren Lauren and Colin Mealey, who were the lights of her life. Barbara was a pharmacist and began her career working in her father's drug store in Jamaica Plain. She retired as a pharmacist for CVS pharmacy. Barbara enjoyed a good cup of coffee with friends and family, anything made of chocolate, bingo, and watching old black and white movies.  She was immensely proud of her two grandchildren and loved them deeply with that special love only a grandmother can give.

There will be a memorial Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes in Jamaica Plain in the Spring of 2022 to celebrate Barbara's life. Details will be shared at a later date. Barbara will be interred with her husband at the National Cemetery at Bourne, MA.
