Aron Kofman

August 3, 1933 (Bucharest, Romania) – July 20, 2026 (Boston, MA USA)

Aron Kofman passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026 at the age of 92 at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, Boston, MA.

After the WWII he moved with his family to the city of Chernovtsy, at that time, Soviet Ukraine.

He worked as engineer in Chernovtsy textile industry, devoting his entire career to manufacturing carpets and kilims. He loved fine clothes, and at the age of rising synthetics industry, he was an early advocate of natural organic fabrics. He loved nature and birds. He was especially fond of canaries. He subscribed to numerous scientific journals, and loved to read about popular science and travel. He was also an amateur transistor radio enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife Eva Kofman, daughter Sarah Heretz and her husband Leonid Heretz, his grandson Jaroslav Heretz and his wife Jennifer Trebbin, and his great grandchildren Jamie and Simone.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 12 noon till 1 pm at Robert J. Lawler and Crosby, 1803 CENTRE ST, WEST ROXBURY, MA 02132, followed by

Interment at Puritan Mt. Sinai, Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA
