Antonio (Tony) Dakermanji, 64, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.

Born in Aleppo, Syria, Tony immigrated to the United Sates in 1978 and resided in Watertown, Massachusetts before moving to Medford, Massachusetts with his wife and children.

Eldest son of the late Hanna and Luttfie Dekermanji, he is survived by his wife Kathleen, his son John and his daughter Rachel. He was the brother of Edgar and his wife Maria and Jack. He was uncle to Alexander and Olivia.

Before retiring in 2024, Tony owned several small businesses, including Louie’s Shoe Service, Sunshine Convenience Stores and other endeavors in the cigar industry.

Tony had a passion for handiwork and tinkering, as well as a love for cooking and gardening. His greatest passion was sharing time with his family and leaving behind a lifetime of memories. His authenticity, calm demeanor, and loving presence will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at St. Matthew’s Syriac Orthodox Church, 149 Park Street, West Roxbury, MA. Viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m., with a funeral liturgy at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tony’s name to the Tufts Medical Cancer Center.
