Ann (Cassidy) Noonan found peace on July 1, 2026 after a brief illness. Ann was born on September 20, 1948 in Boston to the late Louis V. and Anna T. Cassidy. She spent her early childhood in Mission Hill before moving to Braintree, where she grew up and graduated from Archbishop Williams High School. Thereafter, Ann earned her Bachelor's Degree in Science (Physical Therapy) from the University of Connecticut in 1970, where she became a lifelong Husky.

Ann began her career at Milton Hospital, eventually managing the Physical Therapy Department. She married her husband of over 50 years, Denis Noonan, on September 15, 1973. They moved to Stoughton to raise their two daughters and enjoyed hosting family and friends at barbecues, holidays, pool parties, and an annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

In her early 40s, Ann found her true calling in teaching when she became a professor and academic coordinator at Northeastern University. While raising two young children, she obtained both her Master’s Degree and a Doctorate of Education. Ann remained at Northeastern for 25 years, mentoring and guiding innumerable college students and making lifelong friendships. Her colleagues remember her as an insightful, humorous, and fashion-forward individual.

Late in her career, Ann moved to Florida where she could be closer to the beach and her sister, teaching at the University of Northern Florida as an Associate Professor and Physical Therapy Program Director of Clinical and Applied Movement Sciences, in Jacksonville FL. After retiring, Ann relocated to Methuen, MA and lived with her daughter Denise while caring for her husband.

Throughout her life, Ann helped and cared for others through volunteering and teaching. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Italy, Australia, London, and Paris, loved to read, and co-authored two books and numerous scholarly articles. Her “happy place” was the beach, particularly Nantasket Beach and Ormond Beach, FL.

Ann was devoted to and deeply loved her family. She is survived by her daughters Denise Noonan and Ann Marie Noonan; her son-in-law Charles Derdiarian; her grandchildren Charlotte and Wiliam Derdiarian; and her beloved sister and brother-in-law Marie and James (Jay) Noonan and many cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Denis M. Noonan.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in The Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre St. West Roxbury on Friday July 17, at 10:00 am.
