Runci, Alice K. O'Connell of Crofton, MD, formerly of West Roxbury, MA. Born in Boston, January 17, 1922, died July 9, 2014 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness. Daughter of William H. O'Connell and Mary Ann Morris O'Connell. Wife of the late Joseph M. Runci. Beloved mother of Janet R. Wallis and her husband Robert of Rowley, MA; Edward J. Runci and his wife Sharon of Lake Jackson, TX; Elaine R. Signorini and her husband Dr. Sergio Signorini of Crofton, MD; Philip J. Runci and his wife Lisa of Mendon, MA; and Dr. Paul J. Runci and his wife Charlotta of Kensington, MD. She was predeceased by both her sister Ruth O'Connell Fallon and her brother Dr. William T. O'Connell, both of Boston, MA. Alice is survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Simmons College in Boston, and worked for several years for Dr. Frederick Stare of the Harvard School of Public Health; later, she was the administrator of the Sophia Snow House in Roslindale, MA until her retirement at age 75. Alice was a loyal Red Sox fan her entire life. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13 from 1-5pm at the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Theresa of Avila Church, 2078 Centre Street, West Roxbury, on Monday July 14, at 10:30am.
