Obituary

Alex Mikolajczyk 26, of Roslindale, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2023.

Alex will be missed and remembered by many as a kind and gentle soul, a little kid at heart, always wanting to please others.

In his short life he made an impact on those around him. Much loved son of his parents Brenda and Brian, he brought a special joy to them.

He loved animals, especially dogs and rescued over 40 with his mom over the years.  Alex also enjoyed going to car shows and Atlanta Braves games with his dad while he lived in Georgia.

After moving to Massachusetts, he turned that love into a dog-walking business. His entrepreneurial spirit created a landscaping business as he thrived on helping neighbors beautify their outdoors spaces.   Alex famously would make sure everyone's phones and computers were at 100% - he was always ready to plug you in, always wanting to be connected. His love for music and DJ abilities made a meal into a party. It was in Massachusetts where Alex made many new friends through his "adopted brother"/caretaker, Joe Atkinson.  It was here that Alex became known as "Bad-Ass Alex" and he wore his nickname proudly!

Alex opened our eyes to the simple pleasures of life that many of us miss in our day to day hustle and bustle.  If you were fortunate to meet him, and get one of his great hugs, you were blessed!  He brought light, laughter and love into a world that desperately needs it.  He made your heart smile – he truly was an exceptional man. He knew how to chillax and we should all take a page from his book of life.

Alex was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Brenda and father, Brian Mikolajczyk.  From his Mikolajczyk family he leaves behind - Aunt Melissa and Aunt Caroline, Uncle Todd and Aunt Sharon and Grandma Barbara;  from his Mulkeen family - Aunt Patricia, Uncle David and Aunt Mena, Uncle Brian and Aunt Camille and Uncle Rob and many cousins; his cherished Godmother, Christine Imbrogno and Godfather, Brian Sherlock, Miss Peg Nicholls and his "angel on earth", Joe Atkinson, who took him under his wing and helped him to soar for the last three years of his life.  Joe's family embraced Alex, cooking his favorite meals (spaghetti and meatballs) and making him feel like one of the family.  Alex spent the last few years of his life being loved and cared for by Joe and his amazing, loving family.

We can only imagine that Alex is driving his John Deere tractor through the pearly gates in heaven, may his beloved soul rest in peace!
